The Crow and the Pitcher: A brief story of ingenuity

Nearly hours before the first mandated quarantines hit Austin, a group of motion designers got together and challenged themselves to create a cartoon as quickly as possible. In about 24 hours once the time was counted up. We pulled out a surprise story for us to bring to life, Aesop’s Fable: The Crow and The Pitcher.

Thanks to an innovative team we quickly broke the script into storyboards, assigned responsibilities, and dug into production. Squared away in a side room at the lovely Buzz Mill Coffee over on the east side.

After a single day sprint we had most of the labor done, and with a good nights sleep we polished off the credits, graphics, and last of the audio mixing over breakfast tacos.

The Crow and The Pitcher spent 2020 touring several regional film festivals acquiring recognition and acclaim along the way.
